2006 9-3SC in the shop today, A/C recharge Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 17 Aug 2018 17:00:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I took it to the local generic independent mechanics who have done a lot of work on my son's Pontiac. They acted slightly surprised they could not locate a refrigerant leak with the gas being so low. That is exactly what I expected and hoped for - no expensive parts replacement, just more Freon. The car is 12+ years old!
Truth be told, I have had zero luck with D-I-Y recharging of automotive A/C systems since the demise of R12. I assume it is the different operating pressures which make purchase of the 1 pound R134 refrigerant bottles a complete waste of time and money.
