My inspections find :
Drains are large and not at all obstructed.
Area above and to interior of drains is wet and appears water then seeps
over the compression seal at the bottom of door. This seal has a hollow 'tube' that is compressed by the door and seems to have somewhat collapsed and is not providing much of a seal.
Then - Where is the water coming from ?
This car has a trim band above the doors that serves to some degree as a 'gutter' for water off the roof. This trim is not continuous above the rear doors, there is a joint, and at the joint a hole in the bottom that appears to direct water down onto the seal around the door. Water then runs down the outside of the seal and to the bottom of the door where it seeps past the loose seal. It appears that there would be a small but steady flow challenging the seal at the bottom of the door. I'm going to try putting a strip of weatherstrip under the bulb portion of the seal at the bottom of the door. I think this will provide more pressure of seal on door. Also looking for new door seals.
