Replacing headlight low beam with LED kit Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Thu, 7 Feb 2019 12:14:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi - I'm in the midst of replacing the halogen low beam bulbs on my 2010 9/3 Convertible 2.0T.
I've gotten the kit from Lumen (the G8 for H11 bulbs), and find that when the car is turned off, the LED bulbs flash once per second, for about a minute, then stop. When the car is turned on, the bulbs work fine. I assume that the bulbs are pulsing because the car is checking to see if there are burnt out bulbs by sending slight bits of current through, and that the LEDs are more sensitive to this than the halogens.
Has anyone had experience with this? Is there a way to stop the minute of flashing? Is there any reason to worry that it might cause damage?
