I have a p0341 dtc code on my 2007 (engine is a 2.8), I changed the sensor and the code didn't go away. I checked the waveforms from the sensor using a scope which then led me to visually check the camshaft hole. The camshaft reluctor wheel has 4 teeth, two short two long. One of the long teeth has what looks like a burr which I think explains why i was getting the incorrect wave forms and the waveform not showing a complete tooth.
I have no idea what caused the burr, looking at other online photos I have yet to see any of them with any sort of burrs or deformation in the metal. Not sure if something hit the wheel or if was like this from factory.
Being this is a technically a gm HF engine I have now become aware of timing chain issues with these engines. Anyone have any idea if these reluctor wheels are prone to becoming damaged or is this possibly a timing chain issue etc.
