with power seats. Our typical N. Florida winter nor'easter has settled in for almost a week, decided to reluctantly change out the badly cracked & worn driver's lower leather seat cover I bought a year ago. Bought this 9-3 in April last year with 74K on the odo with many rattles and questions and it was priced low but I suspected it would be a project car. It has been but that is another story, it is running great, 30+ mpg, and fun. Back to the seat-having done one other recovering job ('97 9000 Aero with the Recaros (I really miss those seats) I knew it would be a bear. One of the last issues to look at has been both driver & passenger seats moving slightly (1/4" maybe) under acceleration or braking. Visually I can't see anything loose, both seats are firmly attached with no movement, so I figured having the driver's seat out to do the seat cover would be a good opportunity to finally find the issue. I didn't-the tracks were firmly bolted to the chassis, the seat was firmly bolted to the carriage which moves freely when the control switches are used to move forward & backward, nothing else is loose. With the seat installed back in the car a quick test drive revealed the fore/aft movement is still there? Anyone ever have an issue like this in a 9-3 with power seats? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.
