I will leave the SAAB 95 V6 to others to discuss...
I, too, started with a 72 99LE, then a 76, 81,83,85 and now two 06 and one 07 2.oTs along with my 85 900 hatchback.
Of course anything electronic like ECUs is of concern for any car. I cloned a spare used ECU with a $50 cable like the OBDLink SX and free TrionicCan software. It copies all original ECU data inclusive of VIN, key codes, etc. etc. so it is plug and play without a TECH2 programmer. You can copy the data without removing the existing ECU and program the spare out of the car. Just need the PC or laptop.
My 06 93s were bought with ~135K miles on them. One has 245K miles now, 7 years later. I have not found parts to be a really big issue yet.
Suggestions if you are looking for one...
No pending ODB codes, no water pump leaks ($), a second key should be a must (requires programming with TECH2 otherwise ($), good tires, brakes, test all doors/windows/radio/climate controls, etc. etc
Very best of luck with your decision/hunting...
