I looked into the various "clear Bra" kits available on the market (I have an '03 Vector), and to answer your question, there are 2 main differences between the kits. The StonGard kit is a bit more expensive because it offers better frontal coverage -- the hood piece is designed to wrap around the leading edge of the hood (most of the chips I have gotten on other cars were usually on the edge of the hood) and the front bumper piece has less cuts (more of a one piece) and has more coverage(ie, front piece runs under the hood, etc).
Both are made with the 3M material.
Stongard has a better warranty than Xpel.
I bought my kit from Rockblocker.com (421/221-5352); Chad was very helpful and informative, and referred me to a very good installer in my area. Chad uses the StonGard templates (computer derived and cut on an X-Y plotter) and has the ability to customize the cut parts if he finds 'issues' with the StonGard templates (like he did for the Vector parts) -- so, you get a better fit with the 3M material. And, Chad sold me the kit for a price below the Xpel and StonGard list price. Stongard's list was $501, Xpel at $430, and I paid a total of about $360.
Good luck!
