That "someone" could be me ('2' is definitely '+'):
Here is the link to my investigation into polarity and color-coding, including a correction to the diagrams in Haynes Service and Repair Manual.
Remember to follow the additional link "Conclusion, in readable layout".
As tturboboy says, you cannot deduct anything from the stripes: white stripe is '-' in Rear Right and '+' in Rear left.
I have also changed all four speakers to Pioneer, TS-H871 in the front and TS-E6995 in the back(I had to extend the hole, didn't thought of mounting from underneath).
Speaker labeling was a small challenge too:
There was no labeling at the front speaker terminals, but in the box was a small harness with connectors (not for SAAB), and the harness was labeled '+' and '-' by the wire color. So comparing the size of the harness connectors with the speaker connectors gave me the right '+' and '-' terminal at the front speakers.
The terminals on the rear 6x9 speakers were labeled '+' / '-' at the end of the terminal itself.
Good luck!
