Hey Andy, make sure you click on the link I attached to see my audio upgrade. Front dash and rear speakers are easy replacements while the door speakers require much more work. All stock speakers are standard 4 ohm except the door 6 1/2" ones, which are 2 ohm. I noticed that replacing the rear 6x9's made the most difference in total system sound - after all the extra 150 watts of the 300 watt system goes right to them. Then go for the front dash speakers because they are significantly biased in the fading (mine are very bright now, so have treble turned down). After that, hit the rear midranges and finally the door speakers. If you still want more, you need a small sub. Mine is just right to fill in the rest of the upgrade.
Also, I used factory connectors available from your dealership so I wouldn't have to cut the stock harness.
Best of luck.
