Hi:
I know what you have gone through. Don't blame Saab. The mice can get into anything. Both of my Saabs and the toyota truck have been assaulted. It is frustrating. The Saabs are even garaged. Happens only in the winter when they are trying to fined a warm place. Have had them in the air filters, heating ducts etc. They chewed into wiring, leave nasty odors etc. Nests jammed up the heater fans. The only way I know to handle it is to stay on top of gettrng rid of the mice. In the winter, if you garage the car, keep the doors closed. Set traps and check them regularly. Set decon out too. I have had had no problems for the past 3 years...knock on wood. I do live in the woods sort of, so there are a lot of criytters around, inlcuding moose, bears, etc.
People claim mothballs are a very good rodent repellant. Maybe so, but I can't stand the smell.
Good luck,
Alex
