1st time: Get rear ended at stop light - hard. Scratches bumper, doesn't do any damage underneath. Guy wanted to avoid insurance, so he paid cash for damages, which was about $500 IIRC. They had to repaint entire bumper. He was a preacher, so I trusted him and it worked out.

2nd time: Parked car on street on Capitol Hill while at Congressional hearing. Came out and noticed some laday (turned out to be a lawyer/lobbyist) scraped the hell out of the now newly painted bumper with her Mercedes ML 430's front license plate screws when parking behind me. I left a note on her car. She called hours later frantically denying it. We met the next morning on the Hill to "match bumpers." She then admitted it since it was a perfect and level match. It was a Friday and I was in a good mood so I let it go, which ended up working out in the end (see #3).

3rd time: Parked car, went into gym. Got hungry, so went back out to car for some crackers and witnessed some clown and her husband in a beat up former cop car ('95 Chevy Impala) back right into my car's bumper setting off the alarm. I got her insurance card and Geico ended up paying nearly $1,100 this time to fix it. The entire time her hubby was saying how it "Wasn't bad" and that is was "barely scratched."

Bottom line is that my rear bumper's been repainted twice. It's as good as new now, but I wonder when the next occurance will be.
