I have to admit that I totally understand why manufacturers have eliminated oil pressure gauges from cars. I have a 1990 Miata with an oil pressure gauge, and I have to confess, I sometimes wish it had an idiot light. If one sees the number of questions on Miata.net regarding oil pressure, wow! Why give your dealers the hassle. If your car had low oil pressure, what would one do anyway? Maybe change oil and filter.....but beyond that, are you going to dismantle the engine in search of the cause? On top of that oil's have pretty broad ranges of viscosity (even within the same xWxx rating) that also affects oil pressure. Save yourself the grief and worry. If something is seriously wrong the idiot light will warn you, if the pressure is a bit low or high, the car can handle it.
