What could case two dead batteries?

2003 9-3 Arc purchased 11 months ago. In October 2003 (car 6 months old) my battery completely died and was replaced; told by the dealer that the problem was ONLY the battery ("it happens"). Earlier this month -- deja vu all over again. This new battery -- totally dead! (BTW - it's no small matter to deal with. The car needed to be towed to the dealer). And again I was told that problem was only the battery (i.e., there was no evidence of an electrical problem). Does this make any sense at all? (I would never discount the possibility of my just having bad luck! But 2 new batteries dying within the first 6 months?). Is there some sort of electrical problem that could be responsible and that would not be so easy to detect, and could be missed by the dealer?? Appreciate any help -- I'm not anxious to replace battery #3; I'm inclined to keep close to home after the first 5 months of battery life and not get stranded.
