'03 Arc since Aug '03 (11,000+ miles)
I like the car a little more each day. Purchased the Arc over the Linear since there is a foot difference in my height and my wife's, memory seats. Sometimes they reset to another position, but in general, they are nice. They are not tied to the remote, you have to press a button on the seat. The issue of sound quality is subjective. Since I am not a bass loving person, the sound quality is decent. I am partial to the wood(ish) trim over the metal. I am worried that it may get scratched. Nothing a little TLC wouldn't handle. Before purchase, drove all three. Power in all three was okay. The pick-up in the Arc and Aero was much better (to my seat of the pants)when at speed. The ride in the Linear and Arc (both with 16" wheels/tires, no sport suspension) was the same. I liked it much better than the Aero. The issue of the front air dam on the Aero being lower also troubled me. My wife has altered a few of those already. The seats in the Arc and Linear could use more side bolstering. They don't hold you place really well. I, too liked the double 5 spoke wheels better, but was told they were not available as an option. I didn't think to ask about just ordering them as if you were replacing a damaged one. Some of the personalized features are in left field, in my opinion; auto on for the rear window defogger and heated seats, for instance. I have not really had a need for the park assist yet. Unless you parallel park often, I am not sure that you would. Mileage wise, I am averaging between 27 and 32 mpg (winter/summer). I have not had a problem with rattles (knock on wood). I have had the problem with a non-closeable sunroof. Dealer got me right in and fixed it by clean and lubricate. First scheduled maintenance has not been done yet. I had the oil changed at my expense at 7500 miles. I will be doing this for my comfort, eventhough many seem to think it unnecessary. BTW; mine is a Steel Gray Arc with gray interior, Touring Package (6-disc, Park Assist, Xenon), Coldweather package, and sunroof. On-Star was standard and I am still undecided as to usefulness. The xenon lights are a substantial improvement over the standard lights. Recommend you use the GM 24 hour test drive if it is available to you.
