Tough call..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Price on a new 2003 Saab 9-3 convertible, eurodoc, Tue, 11 May 2004 11:33:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Likely at this point the dealer has the car "red tagged" or value priced or whatever else you wanna' call the lowest price. The sales manager likely gets heat every week from the general manager about why he hasn't been able to sell that car.
If the car is in fact still *completely* brand new, $33,500 is a big loser for the dealer. If the car has been reported sold, then the warranty clock has started even though it hasn't acquired an owner yet, and then the $33,500 is right about the dealers net, net, net. I imagine you'll have trouble talking them down any as either it's a big loser or a break even deal for the dealer.
IMO, $10k off is sufficient reason to buy a leftover 2003. The 2003 sport package cars are some of the nicest of all. Sticks have never been a problem in the 'verts.
