", the driving experience is enriched by a smoothness and refinement, together with a progressive torque build-up, that belies the presence of compression ignition. Engineers have helped to achieve this by calibrating the movement of the electronic throttle to deliver a response similar to Saab's gasoline engines."
So this means that they made the diesel torque curve time delayed so it would not leave the Saab gassers in the dust. A diesel is very fast off the line around town. Our 1.9L 97 Passat DTI will leave our 9-5 Aero behind around town! And it is an 8 valve unit that started life as 90 HP.
No timing belt! Thats great.
Engine oil requirements will be very tight. Diesel fuel here would not be good enough.
