03 and, I assume, 04 9-3 SS use fiberoptics for OnStar and other communication services. As a result you can't integrate your phone to use with built-in speakers / microphone. The part from UHLTRONICS only works with older generation 9-3 (pre 2003 or pre 2004 convertible) - you can find the following on their web site's "latest news" page (http://www.uhltronics.com/news.html):

For those "newer" Saab owners - - if your Saab has FIBEROPTICS for the
communication link, neither the Triad1 nor Triad2 can be used as the
telematics interface. We hope this will clarify some of your questions.
Also, Bluetooth option is not available on US 9-3SS (though it is available or will be available very soon in Europe). This option would've allowed seamless integration of your Bluetooth enabled phone with the car telematics system.
So you can do as Rob suggested and use bluetooth phone and headset or some other in car system that would work without integration with the in-car phone set-up. I am not sure if the radio has “mute” input for aftermarket car kit to mute radio as you receive a phone call. I suspect that it is used by OnStar and is not accessible to us.
