I'm looking at buying a used 9-3 convertible this fall, and am kicking around some possibilities. Given that depreciation from 2003 to 2001 is pretty high, and even higher from 2001 to 1999, I am wondering if the differences between the model years are dramatic.

Let's say there are three identically optioned cars (or very close, or whatever), one from 2003, one from 2001 and one from 1999 with very similar amounts of mileage. How much more would you pay for the 2001 than the 1999, and the 2003 vs the 2001? Were there significant changes to the internals of the car that would make one worth more than the other (other than the fact that they are newer.)

There are a lot of low-mileage saabs out there, but I don't want to miss an important refinement.
