Fogs and no DRLs no problem..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Daylight running lights or parking lights, AJ, Sat, 21 Aug 2004 13:33:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If your Saab service department is up to speed that is. Disabling DRLs on a 9-3SS is a Tech II adjustment by the dealer which can be successfully combined with operable fog lights, I believe the correct selection is "rest of the world" which will enable the headlight switch and leave the fogs working.
Some dealers choke on disabling safety features like DRLs, others are happy to oblige. Tech II adjustments are free at the 30 day service, after that a dealer is within reason to charge you a small amount or many dealers will still do it for free. It should only take a few minutes if the tech is familiar with the process.
The lights inside of and next to the projector beams have two bulbs. The small bulb at the bottom are the parking lights and the main bulb is for flash to pass when DRL's are disabled WITH xenons or they function as the high beam with the standard halogen lights.
You might do a search on Tech II and see about some of the other options. There's a poster who wants all his doors to unlock on the first remote push, that can be done. Some like their doors to lock when they drive away and unlock when they remove the key. Some like a horn to honk with the alarm for audible confirmation.
