i used the MTL over the MT90 because the MTL is lighter, so i figured would shift better, especially on cold mornings...and since it's Redline, no worries about using a lighter fluid
saabnet posts and my local parts store said no need to flush with redline. but i did anyways...
just for a little more work and $12 extra in transmission fluid, i figured it couldn't hurt. i only idled the transmission in neutral and shifted several times with the clutch in to flush it out, as my saab was up on jackstands. i'm a sucker for flushing...i always waste a quart of oil down the engine before adding the new oil.
good luck! you'll enjoy the new shifting!
one funny note: the drain plug is magnetized. as i was removing it by hand, i thought i dropped it into my drain pan. so i go fishing for it by hand, and can't find it. now my hand is totally covered with old gearbox fluid, and i'm trying to figure out how the drain plug could vanish. i shine a light upwards, and there it is, stuck to the bottom of the transmission!
