Welcome to the board! I'm glad you're enjoying the new car.
Just want to second what JimBlake wrote. If you want to double the recommended oil-change interval, just change it when the monitor gets to 50%, and then let it keep counting down to zero. It doesn't actually sample the oil at all, so it won't know you've changed the oil unless you tell it. It's just a more accurate way of measuring engine use than simple mileage.
And if you're really paranoid, you can do another change when the car first hits 1000 miles, or 90%...whatever you feel like. Check the manual, but I don't think the "break in" oil change is required anymore. Of course, I could be wrong...in which case, by all means, do whatever the manual says.
As far as the DI cassette, no, you don't have one. If a coil does fail, the engine will run rough, but you should be able to limp home.
