No Saab would be crazy...... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Buyout at lease end, Patrick, Mon, 13 Sep 2004 18:30:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Saab Financial would be crazy to accept your offer. You might get lucky on a case by case basis, some residuals are insured, some not, it's tightened up all around. Haven't been able to help folks into their own lease returns this year as much as last.
In one sense what leverage do you have? If you turn the car in Saab will collect the miles charge and maybe do better than your offer. And you'll still pay a disposition fee of $350 for turning the car in and possibly some excess wear and tear charges. How many miles will you be over?
One way to get $850 ahead of the game is to lease another Saab. You'll get a $500 loyalty bonus and a waiver of the $350 disposition fee whether you lease or purchase your next Saab.
One thing about being over on the miles is that not only are you paying your normal lease payment, your paying 20 cents for each mile too. So if you do bail on the remaining payments and roll 'em into the next lease you'll save 20 cents a mile from here forward. And any amount you do roll into the next lease will be at virtually no lease charge as the rates are so low now.
