I have a 1999 9-3 SE Conv. I just got it about two weeks ago. The only problem that I've had that worries me is that the car sticks in 5th gear most of the time. From what I've read on the BB, this seems to be a common problem. I changed the fluid and put in the Redline MTL and that helped a lot, but it's not gone completely (should I have used the new SAAB MTF instead?). The fluid before I changed it was really dirty and it had about a 1/2 teaspoon full of fuzz and junk on the magnet. Not a good sign. Does anyone think it's the linkage, or are the syncros going bad. I'm just trying to decide if I should take it in to have the linkage adjusted or if I should just drive it and live with it. I got a great deal on the car, and I really like it, I just want it to last for a few more years without having to do any major work to it. Any advice is appreciated.
