Last night was one of those very rare occasions when my car isn't garaged and for those of you who live in New England, you know how much rain we received in the past 12 hours courtesy of Ivan.
Well, my wife goes outside today and notices that my hazard lights are blinking. Hmmm, I definitely don't remeber turning on the hazards before shutting the car off so I investigate. Well, the hazards button is in the off position but yet the F&R blinkers are going off. I start the car and it fires right up but the blinkers stay on and "Telephone" is showing-up on my SID and no amount of pressing the various On-Star buttons will allow me to turn it off and listen to the audio system.
I pull the manual, start checking fuses and everything appears to be fine. I disconnect the battery, let the car sit for 10 minutes, and then reconnect it. No change...
We run about an hour's worth of errands figuring the car will dry out and the problems resolve themself but no luck. In addition, while sitting in a parking lot, the On-Star voice suddenly states "Impact detected, calling On-Star". The technician comes on the line and we explain that there was no impact and that we're having electrical problems. Sure freaked my wife out...
Any ideas? I won't be able to bring the car to the dealer until mid-week so if I can fix it myself, that is the preferred route!
