I have owned a saab convertible for about 5 years now, original one was a 900S and in Feb this year bought a 93 vector. I considered the aero but only for the addition bhp that it had but, to be honest, decided against the wait as the garage had a new vector in and I loved it's look. I have full leather interior, special alloys, parking assistance, CD, etc. Being on the road all the time in my previous job (just got a new one!) I have already clocked up nearly 18k miles and the car is a dream - apart from my central locking packing up yesterday but my dealer, Haymill in Farnham Common (UK) are absolutely fantastic and are sorting it out for me tomorrow (unless I can do it via this forum as there seem to be some great people on it who know a ton!).
In terms of differences that I've noticed, well, solidity of the car has to be the top. My old convertible 'creaked' when you went round corners and was a little slow at the pull-away. This new one is like driving a fixed-top saloon car - not a sound when cornering. Less wind noise is another thing I have noticed and the turbo makes all the difference. It is also more economical (I have the 2.0l version).
I paid the standard UK on-the-road price for mine but had about £6k of extras included in that price as the car I purchased was going to be the garage demonstrator so I got an absolute bargain.
In short, despite my minor hiccup now with the CL, I adore the car. I cannot imagine buying any other brand now (having had a huge variety of other cars in the past) and when it came to wanting to change my old convertible, I didn't even look at any other manufacturers.
I hope this helps you somewhat and good luck with your buying decision.
