Check with your automobile insurance company. The problem with 3rd party extended warranties is that you are at the mercy of the warranty company. What if they have terrible service and won't pay for repairs you thought were covered? What if they go out of business - which happens more than you think. These companies are generally not regulated by your state insurance commissioner. Your only recourse frequently is to sue the warranty company - and that rarely makes economic sense. If you use your automotive insurance company, they are generally pretty solvent and not likely to go out of business. Additionally, they are a regulated industry and you can complain to the insurance commissioner if there is a problem. I know that GEICO has an extended warranty program and I think others do as well. Do a search on this site. I think this topic has been discussed at least twice before.
