Played around with this myself the other day. I pulled fuse 15 to cut the DRLs. The headlight has two bulbs, a "city" or parking light and the headlight bulb. What I have observed is that while the car is RUNNING, even with the headlight switch on parking lights, the damn headlights are still ON. Now with the car off and the switch in the middle, the headlights are off but the dimmer parking lights or "city" lights are on. This aint gonna help you cause you have got to keep moving past security.
This is not the way it works with my 94 SE where you can drive the car with just the parking lights on in the middle position. I think I heard once that you can have the dealer straigten this out with their computer, but it will cost you. Sure seems boneheaded to me.
