Hey all,
My 2003 9.3 died on the highway the other day. I was going about 80Mph and went to accelerate around someone. All of a sudden I noticed that the engine had cut off. It didnt sputter or anything, just shut completely down. I coasted to the breakdown lane and tried to start it back up, but it wouldnt start. I was SURE that I had run out of gas, so I walked to the nearest station off the exit and returned with a gallon of 93 octane. When I refueled the car and tried to start it, it would start up and seem to sputter, but stall the second i tried to put it in Drive. This happened maybe five times until it would not even turn over any longer.
I got a push down to the offramp and coasted into the gas station where I filled the tank up with 93 octane. I tried to start it and it wouldnt turn over again. I left the car at the gas station overnight thinking that the engine may be flooded. I have tried to start it for the past two days, but it will not turn over. I have read that there could possibly be an issue with air intake causing damage to the Catalytic Converter. It is currently at that gas station, and I am having it towed to the nearest dealer tomorrow.
Any ideas on what this could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!!!
Chris.
