Steel wheels for winter tires Posted by Paul [Email] (#792) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Paul) on Wed, 6 Oct 2004 08:40:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'll soon be buying winter tires for my 2001 9-3 (195/60R15) size.
Is there any advantage in buying the OEM steel wheels from a Saab dealer compared to the generic versions offered by the online tire sellers? The Saab ones are approx $50 more (each) even with a combined tire & wheel package discount.
Can anyone confirm the size & bolt pattern: is 15 x 6", 5x110 bolt correct? 2 online sites gave (slightly) different numbers.
How about correct offset and if hub centering rings are required?
Finally, any opinion on the tires themsleves: I'm considering Toyo Observe GO-2+, Micehlin X-Ice and Pilot Alpin PA2, Pirelli Winter Carving ... any others to think about?
Thanks,
Paul
