I have a 2001 9-3 SE, 5 door that I purchased 2 months ago.
When I was in a dealership buying this car I saw a 9-3 SE convertible with nice FONDMETAL Rims, so I asked dealer to swap my stock 16” with this wheels and he agreed to do so for $300 bucks (I think it’s a pretty good deal =) )
Now…
It’s FONDMETAL TYPE 5800, 17” Wheels with Kumho Ecsta Supra 225/45/17 Tires/
When I drove the car to my house – ride was horrible, so I decided to take it to a tire shop and get a HUNTER ROAD FORCE BALANCE as well as all wheel alignment. It turned out that I needed concentric rings installed as well (even though this wheels should fit on SAAB)
Now it drives fantastic on a smooth highway but it follows every bump on uneven one!!!! I think you call it tramlining. Its pretty Annoying after a while. You always need to stay alert
I love this wheels but I do not want to sacrifice ride quality!!!! WHAT DO I DO?
Is this because of the TIRES? Should I switch Kumhos to something else? Should I get 215 instead of 225, would it help???? Could this be offset issue?
Thank you in advance for your input SAAB family =)
