werid one-time no start

Monday morning when I wanted to go to work (no, that's not quite the right way to put it), my car wouldn't start. It's a base 00 9-3 that I've had for a little over year and now has about 37K on. I've never had starting problems before. (Well, sometimes it seems a bit rough to start when low on gas, but I don't want to start down that topic. <g>)
Tried a couple, few times. It groaned, then settled into a classic click-click. Instrumentation dim. Oil and battery idiot lights on but not the CEL. No funny smells under the hood. So I guessed probably a depleted battery, hoping it wasn't anything more exotic. Eager to be in the office, I just took another vehicle.
When I got home, I jumped it. Started right up. Shut it right down and unhooked the cables. Restarted several times thereafter without problem. And it was fine today. This doesn't seem like a battery problem. I didn't run it long enough on the jump to charge at all, and I deliberatedly did multiple restarts immediately afterwards.
So what happened? Should I worry that something is about to go? The dreaded DIC? The level of technology in this car is kind of scary.
Thanks!
- Tom
