Just curious, I've owned old mustangs, a 340 duster, a 70 toyota celicas, a few VWs, an Audi GT Coupe and I've poked around under a 944. I've never seen a front suspension lower control arm with two bars "forked" onto each other. The parts look like nice aluminum (forged?) pieces, but it seems a bit complicated for a simple function. Most cars have a single triangular lower control arm, if I remember correctly, except the duster which had torsion-bar front suspension. Is the design lighter, or stronger, or more accurate? Is it just Saab tradition?
