Most common problem of saab power seat is not about motor.
It's relay next to power seat brain or broken cable.
Those relay is nearly $200.00 for new one.
and if one side of seat is not working (For example only one side of back is moving),
most of times cable between motor and seat part is broken.
cable itself usually costs about $65.00 and usually ot takes 2~4 hours to tear down the seat and fix it.
Since Viggen has side airbag in the seat, there is some other labor hours that relate disable airr bag before do it and able it again.
As ar as I understand, most of dealer doesn't want to change just cable so, they want to change whole seat. (that costs nearly 1000.00)
Personally, I've never seen power seat went out on saab vehicle either cable or relay.
Which most of them are expensive.
If I were you, I would find out exactly what's wrong with it and post it agina for second opinion.
