Trim, headlining
To remove
Warning
Take care not to damage the energy absorbers.
Damaged energy absorbers must be changed and
not refitted. Damaged energy absorbers can provide
inferior head protection.
Note
Lift out the headlining through the luggage compartment
once it has been detached.
1. Remove the sun visors.

Undo the cover on the rear-view mirror mounting in the roof (fastened with clips).

3. Remove the rear-view mirror.
Cars with sunroof:

Detach the lamp from the motor bracket (fastened with 2 clips) and disconnect
the bulb from the connector.

5. Undo the bracket retaining screws and pull it loose.
6. Loosen the strip around the sun roof. Unplug the connector to the sun roof motor.
7. Undo the console for the interior lighting.

Undo the door weather seals on the A-pillars.

9. Pull off the A -pillar trim (fastened with clips).
10. Remove the courtesy handle.

5-door:
Left-hand B-pillar
12. Remove the top inner trim from the left-hand B -pillar (fastened with clips).
13. Remove the top clip on the top inner trim on the left-hand B -pillar
Right-hand B-pillar
14. Remove the pillar trim, .
15. Remove the C-pillar trim, .
16. Release the retaining clips at the rear of headlining. Turn the clips 90¡Æ.
17. Undo the door weatherstrip securing the headlining.
18. Fold down the headlining.
19. Detach the wiring harness from the headlining (fixed with tape).

To fit
20. Unplug the connectors to the reading lamps above the front seats.
21. Unplug the connector for the rear reading lamp.
22. Lift out the headlining through the luggage compartment.

Fit in reverse order.
Tightening torque, seat-belt adjuster screws: 24 Nm (18 lbf ft).
Fit the head impact protection pads, where applicable. It is important to ensure that the
dimensions given in the figure are followed accurately and that the rear pads are mounted
parallel with the side of the roof.
In the event of fitting problems, the pads can be fastened to the roof as shown in the
diagram and the headlining then fitted in the usual way.
