I have been running the JR filter in my '03 9-3 SS Arc 6 spd for several months now. It seems to allow the turbo to spool up faster which gets you to the powerband more quickly. The car feels a little more responsive and without changing driving habits I noticed I am chirping the tires more on fast starts (torque is limited in the lower gears anyway so it's not a major difference). I drive mostly city and have not noticed any MPG increase but highway commuters may notice an increase in MPG if they lay off the accelerator pedal. I like the extra whooshing sound of the low restriction filter but others may not- it's pretty much always there to some degree as you drive, whereas the factory filter was almost silent. I'd say it's worth doing since the price is relatively low, installation is only a few minutes, and there is a subtle increase in driveability (IMHO).
On another note, I was almost ready to go ahead with the BSR PPC until we began to see some negative info posted regarding air/fuel mixture, pinging, etc. Others have installed this software in the 9-3 SS and absolutely love it and have had no problems. Who knows... I'm going to be more conservative with software upgrades due to warranty concerns now that I've had time to think about it.
