What are the other dimensions of the current tires (width and diam) and those you are looking? Just eyeballing your numbers that looks almost like it could be 205/50 16 vs 205/55 16 but could be something other.

Regardless my gut has me thinking that might be a bigger change than you'd normally want. Generall rule of thumb is max +- .5 inch in diam. Think carefully before going beyond that. Regardless remember to look at the specs for the specific tires of interest. Actually specific tires can vary a far degree compared to the general calcs. Some maybe a better or worse match.
