I was using Mobile one syn in my 1999 9 5 se 2.3 lpt for about two years now. I tried three different weights of their syn blends. I always saw a big build up of carbon on the inside walls of the tail pipe right at the end of the exhaust pipe. I had been told by a lot of Saab salesmen and a few mechanics thati know in Los Angeles that this was a natural thing that occurs all the time by using Mobile one when you have a turbo engine. That explanation didn't sit to well in my stomach. I knew i would fine something better that could cut down or eliminate that carbon build up in the tail pipe. I have a friend out here in Los Angeles that talk me into trying Amsoil European formulation for my 1999 Saab. I said, "O.K. Jim I'll try it out". As soon as it went into the engine, i wiped out the carbon build up in the tail pipe till i could see the chrome of the saab exhaust tip. The car seem to run cooler and sure enough after three weeks i check that tail pipe and i did not see any carbon build up what so ever. I though my wife play a joke on me and wipe it up behind my back. She said no! I check it again about four weeks later and still no carbon build up. WOW!!! I was sold on that Amsoil European formulation 5w-40. I thinks it the greatest thing since slice bread. Give it a try. I did and i'm sold on the product. look at their web site for a lot of details on their products. D.J.B. in Pasadena 1999 95 se 65,173 miles
