First course of action would be to clean the TB, oil the pivots if using a spray cleaner. Reset the limp home solenoid if tripped, and must have the ECU software upgrades that address that, some autobox shifting and DI operation/diangostics. If the TB generated CELs after that, replace for sure. Some folks with TB problems have run very well after software and cleaning, some with solenoid resets.

Eeuroparts lists the TB (2002) for $266, free ship and no taxes to most destinations. So its not a huge expense. Reports make the replacement look easy enought. Watch for dirt around the TB that would fall into the manifold/plenum. Blow clear with shop air if you have it, before opening things up.
