Unfortunately, I haven't had the same luck. My 97 900s had no major problems to speak of, but at 24,000 miles and a year and a half old, I've already had at least the following problems on my 2003 9-5 aero wagon:
power steering leak and failure of car to start at 16,000
two bent wheels (and I know where it happened and who was driving!) - clearly our fault
transmission case leak making it hard to shift into first or reverse: 10,000 (from time to time, it's difficult to shift now, too)
replaced faulty headlight level sensor
low battery: 5,000
new alternator: somewhere around 3 months into new ownership
seat heater light bulb replaced twice (something that I never noticed - they just did it again - not that the bulb is lit now either)
new driver airbag on order b/c light is on and it's malfunctioning (manual says it could go off at a lower speed or no speed - that doesn't thrill me)
I've also had incidents where the passenger side mirror wouldn't go down when I pressed the button, or the sunroof open, and a couple of times where turning the key the first time didn't start the car. I'm thinking electrical gremlins - but what do I know about cars...
I like the dealership, the salesperson and the service department. They couldn't be nicer. I like the car (especially the brakes and acceleration into the highway, and the weather band radio), but I'm a little nervous b/c the end of my warranty is fast approaching. Seems like I have some bad luck with this car.
Glad to hear my experience is the exception and not the norm.
