I am a NG900 owner of a 1998SET turbo. I recently purchased my wife a 2003 9-5 Linear 2.3LPT 5sp automatic. She was in a 2000 Volvo S80 with 67k on the clock. I found a deal on the 2003 with 72K on it for $12,600 as a Saab off-lease car. I have like SAABs since my first 1992 9000CD turbo. I am a better Saab mechanic that a computer scientist that is required to own a 1999 and up Volvo (designed dealer only car IMHO). Sold the Volvo for $12 and feel like I made a great move. The 5sp auto in the >=2002 is fantastic. I love the car and the wife is coming around. She been stuck on that Chevy vrs Ford augument is he like a Saab I just could not like it as good as my Volvo. Deals are to be had in off lease 9-5s. The same dealer had a white linear with 46K here in NC for $16,500. It is on Autotrader.com now. I just could not justify the difference for the miles. I pulled the valve cover and it is as clean as any engine out there (cleaner than my 1998 900SET was). I have went over the car with all plastic pulley replacement, belt, PVC hoses that felt soft (no PVC mod). I did discover the 5/32 line off the PVC on the valve cover was stopped up at the plastic nipple at the valve cover. I took a small drill bit and augered it out. I later replaced it with the complete line assembly due to the big hose being soft. I am running a Saab filter and M1 0-40 in this car out of fear and changing at 4000 miles. These are fantasitic cars. I do plan to eventually change the wood grain trim to the dark wood that most 9-5s have due to the 2003 had ugly wood. I can do this from genuine saab for around $179.

1998 900SET 100K Midnight blue
2003 9-5 Linear Midnight blue (yes the same color but that is what he had a deal on, The wife calls us the ditsy twins)
