Pick-up the new car yesterday afternoon (I returned the 2002 9-5 Linear a few days ago, loaned a VUE for 2 days), silver with grey leather, auto;
First Impression:
1. They use Perilli P6 all season, the thread design seem to be a bit better with snow, any experience?
2. 220HP 2.3T seem stronger and quieter too, the suspension also seem to
be better than the 2002 Linear, may be only because it's new.
3. The premium stereo system (Harman Kardon? I don't see any logo anywhere) sound nicer than the previous model.
4. Auto with Sentronic transmission is new to me, only try it a few times last night, wish that they have it somewhere othen than the steering wheel as it's hard to shift while you are turning.
5. 42 month lease with 24000km per year, zero down for CND$599.00/month(including GST and PST) vs. my previous 2002 Linear 36 month lease with 20000km per year zero down for CDN$ 699.00/month. Other than the extra 6 months lease period, I save almost CDN$ 100.00 per month! Good deal!?
6. Equipment as compare to my Previous 2002 9-5;
Deduct: Weather brand radio;
umbrella holders on B pillar;
cargo net and hook, you can't even put it on as there is no hooks;
light on rear door to assisst getting in and out in dark;
carpet and floor mats seem less quality material than before;
fuel cap release button on driver door, still lockable?
May be others, but I have to find out later.
Add: Rear center head rest; may be this is the only adder, will have to find out later.
All in all, none of the other compariable sedan (space, safety, equipment, performance, economic, fuel consumption etc.) will come close to this lease deal; A6, BMW 5 series, MB E320, ES330, TL etc. I am a happy man!
