to say 3 unplanned events at 500 each. If you are lucky your experience will be better, if unlucky it will be worse. 3 at 500 sounds about right to me for conservative planning purposes.

You may end up doing the front brakes twice in the next couple of years, depending on how you drive, but you have budgeted plentgy of money for brakes.

A turbo failure could cost $900, but they are rare, and if one occurs as one of your three unplanned events, you may still be on budget.

As for the DI issue, I have never had a DI failure that stranded me; once I replaced a DI on my 91 9000T, it cost around $300. There does seem to be a DI issue with the 2001 9-5s; still, most people never experience a failure. I did not in 45000 miles on my 2001 Aero. But if you troubled by the DI risk, you could always buy a new one for $300, throw it in the trunk along with your spare tire, and if some day you decide you don't need it, probably resell it to a nervous Saabnet reader :>
