I had to make a journey from NJ to NC due to a family emergency. Things weren't going well from the start as my son seemed to have gotten a stomach virus and was getting sick all over the car. We had to stop every few minutes for him (he's 2). Anyway, it just got to a point where we had to keep going so we did.
The problem is, whenver he'd make his noises, my wife would swing around and try and keep the backseat and his carseat as clean as possbile (you don't need a visual here do you?). Well, we're coming down the other side of the Delware-Memorial Bridge into Deleware and my car just dies. We're doing like 70 and the car dies. I'm already a bit frustrated because I felt horrible for my son and we had to keep going and this freaked me out. I thought, "Oh no! My DI just went!" I don't have a spare (yet) and I've got just under 60k miles so I'm sort of expecting it.
So I'm freaking out and pulling over wondering where I'm going to get a DI late on a Wednesday night on the edge of the Deleware-Memorial Bridge. Once I pull over I stop freaking (don't worry, we were safe) and I think about what it could be (other than the DI). I notice the key is turned so the car is not on. I restart the car and start laughing. My wife is wondering what's going on and I say, "I remember the guys at Saabnet mentioned this could happen! You hit it with your knee!"
Yes, I read about it here. Yes it can happen to you... :)

P.S. I will be getting that spare DI...
