I appreciate all the excellent information and advice! Since it's to be my wife's car, the engine choice is not that critical. I'm pleased to read that both engines are just fine. If it were going to be my car, I'd go for the 4-cyl Turbo, but she just wants it to be smooth and zoomy. She's replacing her beloved 12-year old Oldsmobile wagon if that give you an idea of her car sense.

The local dealer is Rick Hendrick Saab. Nothing against the dealership in particular although I did buy a used '97 900 from them and they didn't disclose that it had been flooded (I didn't check carfax either and should have). So, maybe that will be an option if they have a suitable car. Cash-no-trade does 'talk' in terms of price. We're planning on visiting the dealership and doing some test driving on Monday.

I'll keep y'all posted...
