If you look at not just the lower painted spoiler, but pretty much all of the forward facing surfaces of your car, you will see that over time, "s--t" just happens. They put an elastomer in the paint that goes on the soft plastic surfaces to allow it to bend with the plastic, and the paint is not as hard on those areas as it is on the metal surfaces. Look at your headlights. Even on glass you will see the pitting, similar to your windshield. Short of paying for periodic repainting or replacement of parts, this is just normal wear and tear.Remember, if the manufacturers wre to develop a special material or process to prepare the car during manufacture, then the repair industry would also have to be able to implement this in their work. How much more would people be willing to pay to repaint or finish their bumper just so it might look marginally better than everything else on the front of their car?
