Spark plugs, then DI Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Wed, 23 Feb 2005 08:54:23 In Reply to: Jerking Motion, Gail Kozlowski, Wed, 23 Feb 2005 08:51:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My first guess would be spark plugs. Either a loose one, or one or more with the wrong gap. Or even the wrong type. The next would be a DI (Direct Ignition cassette) issue. It provides the spark to the spark plug. Intermittent operation is one sign of one failing. But it also may not have been seated exactly right, and is not making good contact with the plugs. Pull the DI off, and look for scorch marks on the top of the plugs.
Beyond that, it could be fuel. But I'd start with spark.
