What goes bad most of the time is the electronic computer bolted to the hydraulic part and that ECU can be unbolted on its own.
Saab has been "smart" enough to make that computer a "part of the package" (ECU/hydraulic) as compared to other brands where you can buy that ECU as a seperate spare part.
Volvo have huge problems with that ABS ECU going bad left and right and now it has even popped up people that rebuild those units for about $200.00.
Maybe if the Saab market grows big enough they will start to rebuild those too?
You might be able to find a used one and bolt it on to the hydraulic unit (if that is what the problem is on your car).
