Engine light question

Hello,
I own a 1999 9-5SE 2.3lpt 5 speed. Had my engine light come on yesterday. Car then would not hold idle with AC on. The car is also quite sluggish and shudders a little under accelaration. I've got it scheduled to go into Saab Monday. Ideas on what might be wrong. It almost feels like the turbo unit failed. However, the turbo unit is only a week old. It was just replaced as part of the banjo bolt recall.
The Saab folks tell me that it is most likely something to do with the catalytic converter.
Any ideas on what it's likely to be?
Thanks.
