No, not really. To be absolutly sure you need to read the software version of the ECU and compare it to the latest info in the TIS 2000 CD that they have loaded on their computer.
I don't have the very latest version so I don't know what have come out in the last 6 month.
This is what I see for the 2003 US model with B235R engine.
16 of May 2003
<Support for Tech 2 special function to detect Ignition Discharge Module failure. Improved control of ignition trig drivers to protect Ignition Discharge Module. Cold engine protection implemented. Improved CC tip in / out. Improved knock detection.>
13 of December 2002
<Modification to avoid wrong setting of DTC P0725 in TCM. Modified tip in/out function to improve drivability with Reverse on vehicles with TCM. Modified calibration for tip in/out and fuel adaptation.>
I have only had one 2003 Saab in so far so I haven't had a chance to look into the matter if they all come with that Ignition software or not.
The 2004s that I have seen so far have the latest as far as the info I have (6 month old).
Since the pandoras box is now open we are going to see a lot more of this Microsoft style, a software fix for this and a fix for that coming long after the car is manufactured.
