When I got my Assurance Comfortred tires for my 9-5, the Tripletred tires were not yet made to fit Saab wheels. If I had the option, I would have purchased the Tripletreds. I was told they have stiffer side walls and would give better handling. The Comfortreds are a little soft on the handling compared to the factory Michelins but not by much. The car is still very much in control.
The Comfortreds are a very comfortable tire with excellent traction in snow and rain. They are much better than the factory Michelins, but then again, I went from a very worn tire to a brand new full tread tire.
However, the super smooth ride isn't the only plus with this tire. There is an amazing warranty on them (80K mi IIRC) and they are made to withstand road hazards like nasty potholes (some kind of cushioning thing in the layers). I tore a sidewall in a pothole on my '98 900 that had factory Michelins a few years ago. I have unavoidably hit similar potholes this winter in my 9-5 with the Confortreds and drove away unscathed. The roads around Boston are really bad this time of year and between snow covered slushy roads and keeping an eye out for other drivers, you're bound to end up in a deep pothole.
